My dearest friend Mama Kelly made Angelgirl a lovely crocheted hat and scarf for Christmas last year. Angelgirl loves the hat and had worn it almost constantly since then. She was getting a little sad because the weather is getting warmer, and the hat is too hot for her to wear. So I offered to make her a lighter weight hat with a more open pattern but similar style. Not having a pattern I experimented a bit and this is the result.
I found some thin (2 ply) pale pink yarn in my extra yarn bin to use. I estimate it took about 4 oz of yarn. I used a G hook. It only took a couple hours from start to finish. Angelgirl wants a cream color cap to match all her outfits, but hinted she would like one in every color some day. I think Mama Kelly has started Angelgirl on a fashion trend. LOL Now that I have worked out how to make one we will head out to the craft store soon and pick out a few more colors and I'll whip up a couple more for Angelgirl to enjoy.
Will post the instructions (pattern) later when I have some more time.
