Chocolate Crazy Cake

Angelgirl had a chocolate cooking class last week at camp college. She brought home wonderful treats every day and at the end of the week she also brought home the recipe booklet for everything they made. Here is one of the recipes:

Crazy Cake (made with no eggs, no milk)
It is an awesome, rich, dense cake. She decorated it with roses made from tootsie rolls.

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1/3 cup coaoc powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup oil
2 Tbsp white vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups water

Directions:
Preheat over to 350 desgress F
Mix together the dry ingredients in a bowl. Stir with rubber spatula to mix completely.
Make 3 wells in the dry ingredients forming a happy face (you need to make a big mouth!)
Into one eye put in white vinegar, in th eother eye pout vanilla, and in the mouth pour in the oil form the measuring cup.
Add 1 cup of water and stir the mixture until blended smooth with no lumps.
Add remaining cup of watger and carefully stir until completely blended.
Bake in ungreased baking pan (9x13) until toothpick comes out clean after being inserted into the middle of the cake, (about 45 minutes).

Here's another yummy recipe that Angelgirl made in class Chocolate Chip Biscotti (posted on my other blog).

There were seven princesses

There were seven princesses
Around the land
The first needed water
Because her kingdom was full of sand
The second is deep under the sea
The third is sleeping
And the fourth is dancing full of glee
The fifth is cleaning
The sixth is reading books
The seventh is shopping
For all she thinks of are looks

Coats

Poem 1

A coat is a shield
protecting you from rain,
snow, wind, and cold.

Poem 2

Do coats like being worn?
Do they like being replaced if they get torn?
Do they like being thrown in a closet without air?
Do they wish they were treated with more care?

My hamster

This is my hamster
Her name is Star
She's very cute
And stuck in a jar

This is my hamster
She likes her cage
When I take her out
She's full of rage

This is my hamster
Sweet and shy
But you will soon learn
She is sly

Tarot Box

My daughter, Angelgirl, made me this lovely box for my Tarot cards as a Mother's Day gift this year. She knows my favorite color is purple. I love the celestial stencil she used, and using a light and dark purple reminds me of the feeling of the yin\yang (balance and harmony) which is the symbol I use for my blog Diet Pulpit.

Tarot Box (with large shell, crystals and a drum in the background).

My Home

My Home

There's a bird on my window
And a dog in my bed
There's a deer in my doorway
That's all to be said
I live somewhere you don't expect
I live in the forest, away from the world

Teddy Bear

I saw a teddy bear
I saw a teddy bear

Needing lots of care
Torn pieces everywhere

I will bring it back to life
I will bring it back to life
